Recommended candidates

Our bylaws reserve endorsement for candidates running as Democrats. When a candidate in a nonpartisan or independent campaign shares our values, we can recommend them – and this year we recommend three:

• Josh Nuxoll – County Assessor (Independent)
• Ed Welter – County Sheriff (nonpartisan)
• Stan Sturgeon – County Commissioner, District 3 (nonpartisan)

Statewide ballot measures

We urge you to REJECT all three statewide initiatives:

• REJECT IP26-645 – Repeal Millionaires’ Tax. Also bans any tax on individual income – defunding schools and child care to cut taxes for the wealthiest.
• REJECT IL26-001 – Parental Rights. A re-run of legislation its sponsor could not pass.
• REJECT IL26-638 – Gender Examinations for Girls in Sports. Kids belong in sports with their friends.
